The garden is probably the most famous attraction of Villa Monastero and an integral part of its atmosphere and charme. They make up a long walk along the lakeshore, whit avenues and terracces which lean towards the backdrop of the mountain. Cypresses, oleanders, citrus fruits, American and African palm trees, agaves, yuccas, dracaenas, together with laurels and evergreens, offer glimpses encompassing every possible shade of green and perfume the air.
Over the years architects have added balustrades, statues, temples, vases, well heads and fountains to augment to the pleasure of strolling and conversing among all these wonders.
A Neoclassical garden offers its statues as silent companions which live alongside the plants;
"The Clemency of Tytus", sculped in the nineteenth century by Comolli is the most important group in the garden.
