On Saturday, June 6, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and on Sunday, June 7, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the Province of Lecco will participate, through the Botanical Garden of Villa Monastero, in the initiative Appointment in the Garden, promoted by APGI – the Italian Parks and Gardens Association, under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture.

Conceived as a genuine “garden celebration,” the event is held in connection with the Rendez-vous aux jardins initiative, taking place simultaneously in more than 20 European countries.

For the occasion, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the magnificent garden of Villa Monastero accompanied by an expert from Fondazione Minoprio, who will illustrate the different garden environments and botanical features, highlighting the most significant specimens.

The theme of the 2026 edition of Appointment in the Garden is “Sight”. During the tour, visitors will therefore be encouraged to shift their gaze from the garden to the surrounding landscape and back again.

The guided itinerary will begin in the former nuns’ garden area, originally devoted to the cultivation of aromatic plants, introducing the theme of sensory experience as a way of understanding the garden. The tour will then focus on sight, exploring different levels of perception, from the details of individual plant species and their characteristics to the broader view of the landscape and its elements.

The guided tour, limited to a maximum of 20 participants, will be offered in both Italian and English.

No reservation is required. Participation is free of charge upon purchase of an admission ticket to Villa Monastero.
