On Saturday 23, and Sunday 24 September, there will be the European Heritage Days.
This important European initiative has the aim of improving and encouraging dialogue and exchange between European countries, within a cultural sphere.
This year the Italian theme is Patrimonio in Vita referring to the European slogan Living Heritage. This theme provides the opportunity for us to take a closer look at the intangible cultural heritage.
Villa Monastero takes part to the initiative with two exhibitions:
Donne di fiori – Gerardo Bianchi (Monza 1845-1922), pittore fotografo: the exhibition shows thirty unseen paintings dedicated to flowers belonging to private collections, and sixty photographs of people of the time.
Carpi Frisia Gola. Memorie di un territorio: the initiative focuses on the friendship and work relationship of the painter Aldo Carpi (1886-1973), Donato Frisia (1883-1953) and Emilio Gola (1851-1923). The project was developed in collaboration with the Municipality of Merate and the Municipality of Olgiate Molgora.
