On the occasion of National Landscape Day, on Saturday, March 14 at 3:00 p.m., the Province of Lecco, in collaboration with CoopCulture, offers visitors to Villa Monastero in Varenna a guided tour titled “The Liquid Landscape. Water, Stone, and Botanical Heritage,” which explores the eclectic architecture of the villa and the botanical richness of its garden.

The tour provides an in-depth look at the concept of the Italian cultural landscape, through the history of the estate’s various owners. Each of them left their mark by introducing new plant species and new garden forms, reflecting their travels and scientific curiosity.

The visit also includes a meditative stop at one of the villa’s panoramic viewpoints, where participants can contemplate the reflection of the mountains on the water and enjoy a unique sensory experience.

The guided tour costs 7 euros, requires advance booking, and has limited availability (maximum 20 participants). It lasts 60 minutes and is available in Italian and English.

“With this initiative,” comments the President of the Province of Lecco, Alessandra Hofmann, “we aim to contribute to the promotion of landscape culture in all its forms and raise public awareness of the themes connected to it, through a dedicated activity at Villa Monastero, a symbolic place in our territory from a landscape perspective.”
