There was great enthusiasm and participation in the first Author’s Walks from Villa Monastero to the Varenna lakefront on Sunday 4 June.
During the path, the participants could appreciate readings of poets, writers, and musicians: from explorers of the 19th century, such as Mary Shelley, Henry James, Edward Lear, Fanny Mendelssohn, and Friedrich Nietzsche, up to now, as Leonardo Sinisgalli.
The initiative is part of the celebrations for the two thousandth anniversary of the birth of Pliny the Elder (2023-2024) and of the project activities financed with the Pnrr M1C3 Investment 2.3.
The Author’s Walks are organized by the association of social promotion Sentiero dei Sogni, which specialized in territorial narrations and mastermind of the format creative walks.
Next appointment will be on Saturday 22 July, at 14.30. L’età romana – La natura e la storia: a Varenna sulle tracce dei Plinii.
The last appointment will be on Saturday 30 September, at 14.30. Il Medioevo – Varenna anno mille.
The Author’s Walks are carried out only in Italian. To participate, online booking is required.
On the day of the initiative, the participants could enter Villa Monastero from 9.30 up to 15 minutes before the beginning of the activity, by paying the entrance fee directly at the ticket office at a reduced rate. The meeting point of each Walks will be at the Villa Monastero loggia.
On 30 September, the visit to Vezio Castle will have a reduced ticket (3 euros) to be paid at that moment to the Association Sentiero dei Sogni.
