On Friday 6th May at 11:00 a.m. in Villa Monastero will be inaugurated the exhibition Trame lariane – Trame d’arte e moda.
It is a widespread exhibition located in these villas: Villa Carlotta of Tremezzina, Gardens of Villa Melzi d’Eril of Bellagio and Villa Monastero of Varenna, thanks to a fruitful collaboration among them.
The exhibition celebrates arts treasures of the villas and the Como textile heritage, thanks to the creations of young designers of the Istituto Setificio Paolo Carcano and the contribution of the Fondazione Setificio, with the aim of promoting the Como Creative City values.
Students were inspired by the villas collections in order to create foulard and silk scarves with original textures, reinterpreting, in a creative way, the ornamental, sculptural, architectural and floral elements of the residences.
Creation and development of the project are by Sara Ielpo.
The creations of the students of the Istituto Setificio Paolo Carcano, declined in objects of fashion, offer to visitors an unusual view of the indissoluble link between art heritage and textile tradition of Como area.
Featured artefacts were realized thanks to the support of teachers: Flavia Proserpio, Simona Borensztajn, Antonella Anghinolfi, Annalisa Ligorio and of the Fondazione Setificio which supports the activities promoted by the Istituto Paolo Carcano, with the President Graziano Brenna and the vice-president Lorenzo Frigerio, owner of Tessile srl.
The project is sponsored by Fondazione Alessandro Volta di Como, Como Città Creativa Unesco e ReteTAM – Rete nazionale degli istituti settore tessile, abbigliamento e moda.
