Villa Monastero in Varenna recorded 59,862 entries in August 2025, a figure substantially in line with that of August 2024, when there were 61,046 visitors.

A slight decrease that, however, did not affect the appeal of the historic residence, which remains one of the most appreciated cultural destinations in the area.

The result is particularly significant considering the suspension of the Lecco–Tirano railway line, in place from mid-June to mid-September for modernization work.

Despite the difficulties in transportation, the steady flow of visitors demonstrates the effectiveness of promotional efforts and the attention given to the quality of the cultural offering.

The Province of Lecco expresses satisfaction with the stability of tourist and cultural flows, a sign of Villa Monastero’s importance as an identity symbol of the Lecco heritage.
