The Province of Lecco takes part in the Rete dell’800 Lombardo with Villa Monastero of Varenna. The Rete brings together institutions that recognize their identity in the artistic and cultural heritage of the 19th century in Lombardy.
The Rete, born in 2004, was reconstituted in 2019 thanks to the support of Regione Lombardia. The Rete aims to enhance and promote locations and collections related to 19th-century culture. It currently has 19 regional realities.
Within the Rete initiatives, on the 22nd and 23rd of October will be the Giornate di studio at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum and the Castello Sforzesco.
Villa Monastero will attend the conference with the contribution of Alice Martignon (Università Ca’ Foscari di Venezia) Tra Venezia e Lombardia: mercato e collezionismo di arti applicate antiche e “in stile” fra medio Ottocento e primo Novecento. Villa Monastero e altri casi studio, in which the museum collections are described, including important furnishings made by Guggenheim visible to the public at the Villa.
